VIDEO: SI: Eagles fans the 'most hated' in the NFL
Eagles fans are known for being loud and passionate but in a recent Sports Illustrated poll, they were also named the 'most hated' fans in the NFL.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Eagles fans are loud and passionate. In rain, sleet or snow they bleed green.

"Oh, man - we're maniacs," said Ian McShane.

"We're ruthless, devoted, dedicated," said Patrick McLaughlin.

Well maybe this will get Eagles fans fired up too.

Sports Illustrated recently named Eagles fans are the most hated fan base in the NFL.

Their reasons: throwing snowballs at Santa, the old jail at the Vet and booing an injured Michael Irvin in 1999.

"I think Sports Illustrated is the worst magazine, people are tired of us speaking our minds. SI is 100 percent wrong" said Jason Fagden.

Well not all Philly fans want to boo Sports illustrated.

Most Eagles fans we spoke with in South Philly say they are proud and wear the distinction like a badge of honor.

"I think it's cool that we have this reputation throughout the country. I think it's kind of neat that we're recognized as bleeding green," said Ken Goldstein.

Before you know it, Eagles fans will be back to wearing their emotions on their sleeves and living up to that reputation at the Linc.

That'll be especially true come September when the Cowboys come to town.
