Walk-on player gets surprise scholarship
Walk-on player gets surprise scholarship. Brian Taff reports during Actdion News at 4 p.m. on August 10, 2017.

A team meeting turned into a life changing moment for a walk-on football player at the University of Minnesota.

Coach P.J. Fleck brought a special guest with him to talk to the team earlier this week.

Kyle Tanner, a patient at the university's Children's Hospital, is a huge fan.

Armed with a t-shirt gun, Tanner talked about one player in particular who always visits him in the hospital.

He then fired off a t-shirt straight into the arms of that player, kicker Justin Juenemann.

On the shirt, it read: "Justin, Congrats on earning a scholarship!"

Juenemann could not believe it. All his teammates got up from their seats and cheered.

Juenemann has never played in a game, but Coach Fleck wanted to reward him for making a difference.

He later held up the shirt during a Facetime call with his mom.

The gift left her speechless, too.
