NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It continues to be an incredible football season for the undefeated Temple University Owls.

After Thursday night's big win against Eastern Carolina, Temple is now 7-0 for the first time ever and it's the first time in nearly four decades they've been ranked in the top 25.

Enthusiasm was running high in Owl Country Friday with cherry and white wherever you looked.

"They are red hot, just like the cherry red of Temple University," said student, Kees Holterman.

Thursday night in Greenville, North Carolina, Temple came back with two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to beat East Carolina 24-14 and remain undefeated.

Fans say they appreciate these wins even more because they remember watching the team struggle not that long ago.

"My freshman year we went a wonderful 2 and 10, it was awesome. And I'm in the marching band so we had to sit thru all those home games. It was like whoa," recalls student, Steve Petrahai.

Coach Rhule says they are sticking to the same plan for this game as all the others.

"Enjoy them, take a minute and let it sink in and then focus on the win. Play well and I feel like we will do that next week," he said.

The students are enjoying cheering on their team and thinking optimistic.

"Notre Dame is cool but I think it's their time to lose to Temple," said Holterman.

"I feel like a lot of people on campus are more interested in football than they would be before. Watching it and going to the games - there's a lot more people going to the games now which is awesome because we are finally filling the Linc," added student, Amanda Roth.

And Temple will have some time to rest up before they have to fill the Linc.

Temple takes on Notre Dame on October 31 at 8 p.m. on 6abc.
