NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Temple University students lined up in the rain and inside the Liacouras Center Wednesday afternoon to get their hands on tickets for Saturday's football game against Notre Dame.

The crowd missed out on the first 11,000 plus tickets the university gave out to students.

So they came to the box office hoping to score one of the final 450 standing room only tickets the school made available.

They didn't want to miss the game that's got this campus all abuzz.

"I am a little on the bandwagon honestly. It's been talked about. It's been in the air so much. It's hard to ignore that you just end up being drawn into it," junior Shay Pilot said.

With undefeated Temple nationally ranked at 21, Notre Dame at 9, and ESPN broadcasting its super popular College GameDay program here, some are saying it's like nothing Temple's experienced before.

'It's never been bigger. Actually with College Game Day coming here on Saturday, some would say the show is bigger than the game itself. And the game, I don't think there's ever been a bigger athletic event in the history of Temple athletics," Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications Larry Dougherty said.

Those who waited - and yes worried - were thrilled that they were walking away with one of the golden tickets.

"I've been waiting for like 50 minutes so I am really excited, a little worried, but we got it," sophomore Ben Gette said.

Temple is planning to load up about 40 buses at the Liacouras Center on Saturday morning just to take students down to Independence Mall to be a part of ESPN's College GameDay.

And so many students will be heading down to Lincoln Financial for the game.

SEPTA is adding extra trains on the Broad Street Line.
