A Polk County Sheriff's deputy was responding to a call when a car slammed into his cruiser sending him into a ditch.

POLK CO., Or. (WPVI) -- A Polk County Sheriff's deputy was responding to a call when a car slammed into his cruiser sending him into a ditch.

The car then burst into flames and Shon Latty was unable to get out on his own.

Two officers quickly pulled up and pulled him out of the burning car and saved his life.

Latty was hospitalized with a broken arm and shoulder.

He is expected to be okay.
