NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left two children injured in Northeast Philadelphia.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. at Bustleton and Cheltenham avenues.
Police said a 2-year-old was violently flung across the backseat when his mother, the driver of the vehicle, hit a pole.
The boy's car seat was not buckled in properly, police said.
He was rushed to Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children in very critical condition.
An 8-year-old, who was in the front seat, and the driver were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.
So far, the cause of the accident is unknown.
