Dump truck crashes on I-295 in West Deptford

WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- A crash involving a dump truck slowed traffic on I-295 in Gloucester County Tuesday morning.

It happened at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the northbound lanes in West Deptford.

Images from Chopper 6 HD over the scene showed a dump truck lying on its side in the right shoulder of the highway.

Police tell Action News the truck was carrying a load of rock when it overturned.

The male driver was taken to Cooper University Hospital with injuries said to be non-life-threatening.

There was no immediate word what led to the crash.

Northbound traffic was down to two lanes for more than an hour following the crash.

The right lane remained blocked after that as crews worked to right the truck and clear the road of debris.
