VIDEO: Trucks collide on NE Extension
The crash slowed southbound traffic for hours between Lansdale and the Mid-County Interchange.

LANSDALE, Pa. (WPVI) -- All southbound lanes are back open after a crash involving two tractor trailers on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The accident happened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes just south of the Lansdale exit.

Images from Chopper 6 HD over the scene at 7:25 a.m. showed one of the big rigs being attached to a tow truck with all southbound lanes blocked.

There appeared to be no serious damage to the truck, and there were no reports of injuries.

Traffic, however, was backed up for miles approaching the scene.

By 8:00 a.m. both tractor trailers had been moved to the side of the road and traffic was flowing again.

Motorists were advised to expected continued delays in the area as congestion eased.
