Man struck, killed by pickup truck in Bear, Del.

BEAR, Del. (WPVI) -- A 36-year-old man is dead after being struck by a pickup truck in Bear, Delaware.

Police have identified the victim as Michael W. Prang of Bear.

The accident happened around 11 p.m. Friday in front of Governor's Square Shopping Center.

Police said Prang was crossing Route 40 when he was struck by a Dodge Dakota pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 52-year-old driver of the truck did stop at the scene. He was properly restrained and was not injured.

The road was closed for two hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.
