Authorities say a child is the second victim who has died after a fatal crash on the Atlantic City Expressway.

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a child is the second victim who has died after a fatal crash on the Atlantic City Expressway on Friday morning.

The crash, involving a pickup truck, happened shortly after 7:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 22.7 in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County.

All six victims were ejected from the pickup. 35-year-old Jammes Dennis was pronounced dead.

45-year-old Roselyn Kornegay and a 4-year-old were taken to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition. The 4-year-old child has since died.

Kornegay was the driver, police said. Those three, who are from Philadelphia, were riding in the cab of the pickup.

Three other people were riding in the bed of the pickup.

Those victims have been identified as Brian Gregory, 19, Shaniqua Dams, 18 - also from Philadelphia - along with a juvenile male of an unknown age. All three were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

Authorities say the truck, travelling west toward Philadelphia, had just passed the Farley service plaza when it slammed into a guardrail and flipped over.

The pickup is register to Just Us Construction in Philadelphia.

Police do not yet know where the vehicle was coming from or what caused the driver to lose control.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The highway was closed for nearly five hours as the scene was cleared.
