Police say a Buick LaSabre travelling northbound on Columbus hit the victims as they tried to cross the road.
The driver then lost control of the car and veered into a traffic light pole, bringing the traffic signal down.
The driver then got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
A female passenger also attempted to flee, but was apprehended by witnesses.
The victims, a 32-year-old male and a 28-year old-female, were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
