Police are looking for the driver who hit a man and woman along Penn's Landing, leaving both critically injured.

PENNS LANDING (WPVI) -- Police are looking for the driver who hit a man and woman along Penn's Landing, leaving both critically injured.

It happened around 11:50 Friday night by the Moshulu on Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

Police say a Buick LaSabre travelling northbound on Columbus hit the victims as they tried to cross the road.

The driver then lost control of the car and veered into a traffic light pole, bringing the traffic signal down.

The driver then got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

A female passenger also attempted to flee, but was apprehended by witnesses.

The victims, a 32-year-old male and a 28-year old-female, were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Philadelphia police are asking anyone with information about the driver's whereabouts to contact investigators.
