CHRISTIANA, Del. (WPVI) -- A biker is hospitalized in critical condition after his motorcycle was rear-ended by an SUV in Christiana, Delaware.

The crash happened around 11:35 a.m. Saturday on Christiana Road at the intersection of Old Baltimore Pike.

Police say the driver of a Jeep Cherokee, 32-year-old Heather Fay, failed to stop and hit a Honda motorcycle that was stopped at the red light.

The impact tossed 25-year-old Michael Heater, of Newark, off the motorcycle. He vaulted onto the hood and slammed into the windshield of the SUV before falling onto the roadway.

The bike itself flew into the intersection where it hit another Jeep Cherokee, which was also stopped at the red light.

Heater was rushed to the hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.

Charges against Fay are pending, police say.
