A driver is dead after losing control and crashing into a pole in Buckingham, Pennsylvania early Thursday morning.

BUCKINGHAM, Pa. (WPVI) -- A driver a pickup truck is dead after losing control and crashing into a pole in Buckingham Township, Bucks County early Thursday morning.

He has been identified as 36-year-old William Lovett of Bensalem.

The crash occurred at 1:20 a.m. on the 1700 block of Route 413, just south of Lower Mountain Road.

Investigators say Lovett slammed into a pole then ended up in the woods.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash brought down power lines onto the roadway and knocked out power to a number of residences in the area.

Police have not said what caused Lovett to lose control.
