PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The well-known website and marketing agency "Visit Philadelphia" is under investigation for how it handled an embezzlement case.

Sources tell Action News the chief financial officer, Joyce Levitt, allegedly stole $210,000 from the publicly funded agency.

But, she was allowed to resign rather than face criminal charges when she paid the money back, according to sources.

Visit Philadelphia handled the theft internally and did not report it to police.

The Philadelphia District Attorney's office is now investigating how the agency handled the matter when it was first uncovered.
