PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- We're watching for the chance of severe thunderstorms and downpours into this evening.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for most of the region until 9 p.m. Monday.

The threat of storms has forced officials to close FIFA Fan Festival in Philadelphia's Lemon Hill for the rest of the day.

Keep an eye on the forecast if you're heading to the World Cup game in South Philadelphia at 5 p.m.

We're watching for the chance of severe thunderstorms and downpours later this afternoon and evening.

THIS EVENING: Watching the radar for scattered strong to severe storms. Damaging winds, downpours that may lead to instances of flash flooding, and even an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

TONIGHT: Storms linger early with typical showers continuing overnight in spots. Low near 70.

TUESDAY: Showers linger, clouds are stubborn until late in the day. Some sun can't be ruled out northwest prior to sunset. High 77.

WEDNESDAY: Comfortable with plenty of sunshine, high 86.

THURSDAY: The day is mainly dry with manageable humidity. Partly sunny, a late day shower or storm can't be ruled out. High 88.

FRIDAY: Turning humid, a few showers and downpours possible, high 87.

SATURDAY: Trending cloudier with rain at times, high 84.

SUNDAY: Few clouds, seasonable, high 88. Warming up.

MONDAY: Still bright but turning hot. High 90.
