TODAY: Autumn arrives at 4:02 p.m., but it will feel like summer during the afternoon. Look for a mix of clouds and sun with a pleasant high of 85.

AT THE SHORE: We have a high risk of rip currents and rough surf again today and probably will see continued rip current issues through the weekend. Swimmers should use extreme caution and not venture out too deep. Jose is no longer a tropical storm, but it's remnants combined with the approach of Hurricane Maria will almost certainly spur continued surf issues well into next week.

HURRICANE MARIA: Maria is pushing past the Turks and Caicos Islands today as a major Category 3 storm and will begin it's move to the north over the next 24 hours. We expect the storm's center to remain off the coast of the Unites States. As it nears our latitude the middle of next week, the most likely scenario is a track well away from the New Jersey and Delaware shores, although rough surf and rip currents would still be a problem. Stay tuned, however, just in case there's an unanticipated change to this idea.

TONIGHT: We see partly cloudy skies. The low is a comfortable 66.

SATURDAY: We have mostly sunny skies for "part one" of our weekend. It may feel a bit more humid through the day with a very warm high around 88.

SUNDAY: Hot weather returns! Look for plenty of sunshine and at least an hour or two in the low 90s during the afternoon. We expect a kickoff temperature of about 87 for the Eagles home opener. The high climbs to 91. Again, it could feel a bit humid.

MONDAY: Clouds and sun mix and it's still hot. Humidity becomes more evident. We expect a high of 91, just one degree off the record.

TUESDAY: A heat wave is possible today. Clouds will mix with sun. Our forecast high is 90.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures ease, but it's still unseasonably warm. Clouds mix with sun with a high around 84.

THURSDAY: Look for partly sunny skies with continued warmth and a thunderstorm chance. The high is still warm: 82.

FRIDAY: Sunshine dominates the skies. The high finally dips to a more seasonable 75, according to long range model trends.
