CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Despite the snowstorm in Center City, folks are finding a way to enjoy their Saturday.

Earlier this morning, the wind gusts were brutal, and made it difficult to keep up with the fast moving snow.

People were already out with their snow shovels in Center City, Philadelphia.

As you shovel that snow, however, it's recommended you take your time and clear little by little.

Later in the morning, the winds started to diminish and the snow became light, but it did not last long.

And, it did not stop a lot of people from walking around in the snowstorm. Some have made a fun day of the Blizzard 2016.

There were runners, skiers, snowboarders and dogs frolicking in the snow.

But, there are also the workers that have been out throughout the night, plowing and salting the roads.

Officials say, please keep the cars off the roads and let the crews do their job.

The streets department has 350 plows and 600 personnel around the city.

PennDOT is also out working to clear the roads.

Jim Morse, the Senior Operations Manager for Philly 311 says it has been very busy and they expect it to continue.

"Volume is good. We are coordinating through the Emergency Operations Center with 30 agents, taking phone calls at City Hall for residents who needed services and answering questions," said Morse.

The center will stay open until 10 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to midnight on Sunday and 6 a.m. on Monday.
