Even with ugly signs of winter still lingering, folks in Philadelphia headed outdoors to soak up the sun and relish in the warm weather.

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Even with ugly signs of winter still lingering, folks in Philadelphia headed outdoors to soak up the sun and relish the warm weather.

At Belmont Plateau, one family spent the day cooking an outdoor feast after a long winter indoors.

"Tired of being in the house. Come outside, enjoy the air. Enjoy some good ol' BBQ with some friends," said Herman Adkins of Willow Grove.

The day was perfect to do just about anything, from laying low to flying high.

"It's beautiful. The only thing I can say is I slipped out of the house to get out here," said Cody Laedson of South Philadelphia.

In Rittenhouse Square, we found many dined outside while others exercised wearing shorts and short sleeves.

And while it began raining by late afternoon, it didn't put a damper on one South Philadelphia couple's big day. They're just glad it's not snow.

"We are happy. I know it's cloudy and raining, but we decided to marry that day. It's a beautiful blessing," said Maria Rosario of South Philadelphia.
