PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Logan Square Fountain is one of the many places we found people out and about in the city Friday. Many have big outdoor weekend plans, hoping winter is gone for good.

"Oh we're going to stay outside all day, until dinner time. We're not going home," said Marie Hart of Fishtown.

The mom of two couldn't be happier at the change in weather.

"Very, very ready. Even though it's only March. So this is super nice, super early," said Hart.

Her 3-year-old son Jasper was having a ball at a park in Northern Liberties, swinging away the afternoon.

"Cause it's really fun!" said Jasper.

The tables outside El Camino Real on Second Street were filled with folks kicking off their weekend a little early to cap off a gorgeous week.

"We love it. We go to Liberty Lands, the park, which she loves, and we go out to eat," said Chris Griffault of Northern Liberties.

"We've been outside a lot, bike riding a lot, having a few beers on her rooftop deck, which has been nice," said Adam Argetsinger of Fishtown.

Furry diners, like Bronson, were welcome, too.

"He likes to sit at our feet and hopefully see if something gets dropped on the ground," said Jacqueline McClure of Old City.

And pooches weren't the only animals loving this warmup.

We found Olive the pig out for a stroll with her owner in Fishtown, enjoying the sunshine and a snack on a spring-like afternoon in the city.

Folks are hoping for a decent weekend, especially those who will be lining the Parkway Sunday morning for the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
