Woman dead following fire at South Philadelphia home

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person is dead following a fire at a South Philadelphia home on Sunday night, authorities said.

Fire crews responded to the blaze in the 1400 block of Clarion Street at about 9:40 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a woman inside a second-floor room.

She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
