Officials say Kyier Ladson, 19, was shot multiple times in his legs, torso, and head.
The victim was transported by police to Jefferson University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Another 19-year-old was also shot and injured in this incident.
The second victim was transported by private vehicle to Pennsylvania Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators believe at least one of these victims may have been the intended target of the attack, and the other may have been caught in the crossfire.

As police blocked off the streets near the scene, children resumed playing and neighbors went about their evening.
Officials are still stunned that more people were not injured or possibly killed, as dozens of gunshots were fired from two different weapons.
"We have over 75 spent shell casings here," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Four cars and five homes were struck by stray bullets during the shooting.
"In all five of these properties, the bullet went through either a first-floor or second-floor window into the property. Some of these properties are empty, some were occupied with adults and children," said Small.

Neighbors were also shaken up by this recent show of gun violence.
"We live around the corner and broad daylight is just insane," said Tony Scola from Queen's Village. "There's so much building here, I don't know who would want to move here if there was just a shooting."
No arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered in this case.
There is no word yet on the victim's identity.
Police are also investigating whether this incident may be connected with another deadly shooting that took place in the city Thursday night.
Surveillance video captured the gunfire ring out around 9 p.m. on the 700 block of Daly Street.
Terrified bystanders crouched behind a car to take cover.
Of the 60 plus bullets fired, 11 casings were found inside the Chinese takeout shop on the corner. The owner took cover in the back.
"I see three people lay down on the floor, but then I run to the back."
Officials say 38-year-old Charles Fickling who lives on the 2700 block of South 76th Street was shot 18 times throughout his body. He was transported to Jefferson Hospital where he died.
Police say a 31-year-old and a 28-year-old were also struck and injured.
"We found over 60 spent shell casings and it appears on the location where the shell casings are located there may have been some sort of shootout between one or more people or groups of people," said Small.
