Man pleads guilty after girlfriend's body found in refrigerator in South Jersey forest

DENNIS TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A South Jersey man has pleaded guilty after his girlfriend's body was found inside of a refrigerator in a New Jersey state park.

Christopher Blevins, of Gloucester City, NJ, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated manslaughter in Laura Hughes' death.

The 50-year-old's body was found at Belleplain State Forest in December 2024.

According to court documents, her body was found in a refrigerator that was wrapped in a sleeping bag, secured with blue ratchet straps, and covered with carpet.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, Blevins is expected to be sentenced to 17 years in state prison in December.
