A woman who was hiking through an Alaskan trail Saturday was attacked by a brown bear, the authorities said.
The bear was cornered in a wooded area near Second Avenue and Skippack Pike in Whitpain Township, behind residential properties. Wardens used a tranquilizer dart to subdue the animal.
Officers briefly saw the animal and took photographs before it disappeared into nearby woods.
A black bear was spotted in a Bucks County backyard on Friday morning.
Police pitched in to take a bear into custody.
The bear had been spotted roaming the neighborhood before it climbed about 40 feet up into a tree.
