Ben Franklin-inspired donut available for a limited time at Federal Donuts & Chicken

Donut lovers can now bite into the past with a new flavor inspired by a founding father.

Federal Donuts and Chicken debuted "The Ben" on Thursday.

It's a tribute to Ben Franklin, inspired by his two favorite flavors - ginger and plum.

The limited-time offering was handed out for free at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway location.

The donut was created in partnership with the upcoming premiere of the Benjamin Franklin rock musical, "The Sound of America."
