A major concern for people moving to electric vehicles is the ability to take a long road trip every now and then.
But an influencer couple is documenting their journey across the country to show EVs can go the distance.
"Good morning from another day on the road," said Taylor Saling on a recent TikTok video.
Saling is from California but lives in Berlin, Germany with her husband, Zervan Aktas. The adventurous duo decided to buy an electric Volkswagen Bus and explore the entire U.S.
"We've driven over 20,000 miles and been to 25 states so far," she said.
The couple believes America is very EV friendly, finding charging stations about every 50 miles on major highways.
"We haven't had any issues, and we haven't run out of charge so far," she added.
A week and a half ago, their journey took them right here to Philadelphia.
"We have to say, we loved it! It might be our favorite city so far."
They took in all the sights our city has to offer and even hung out at a festival in South Philadelphia. They said they marveled at the city's architecture and stopped at Reading Terminal Market to enjoy, of course, a cheesesteak.
"Philly for me felt really like home," said Zervan. "On the road trip, Taylor and I were deciding to look for a place that maybe in the future to settle, and Philly for me, especially for the first time, exactly that place."
They also gave the city great reviews on its EV-expansive infrastructure.
"I think there is now nearing around 500 public chargers in the city, which is a pretty high number," said Taylor.
They also noticed something they say is unique to Philadelphia.
"One thing that stood out to us in comparison to other cities that we visited, is like that for the first time we saw EV chargers outside the row homes we have never seen that before," said Taylor.
Taylor and Zervan are in Tennessee right now.
They plan to go back to Berlin for the holidays and then return to the U.S. to resume their EV cross country trip.
