Death of 2-month-old baby under investigation in the Kensington section of Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating the death of a 2-month-old baby in the city's Kensington section.

Officers were on the scene along the 2000 block of East Birch Street early Monday morning.

The baby was pronounced dead at around 2:30 a.m. at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

We are working on gathering more details about what happened and why the police are involved.

Action News has learned the investigation is being handled by the Special Victims Unit.
