Firefighters respond to brush fire in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Firefighters responded to a brush fire in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, Tuesday morning.

The call came in around 3 a.m. for a brush fire in the area of McCall Avenue and Jackson Road.

Officials say the fire was originally about three acres and threatened roughly a dozen homes.

Chopper 6 was over a brush fire in Hamilton Twp., Atlantic County

When fire crews arrived, they made a fire line, which brought the fire to about six acres.

Officials say the fire is now contained and crews are monitoring hot spots.
