
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A suspect is in custody after police say an argument escalated into gunfire, ending with a man being shot in the face.
It happened on the 2000 block of Pickwick Street in Philadelphia's Harrowgate section just after midnight on Friday.
The man was standing outside and was confronted by a small group of people.
The group left, but police say that when they returned, they opened fire.
When police arrived, they said they found a 31-year-old man sitting in a chair on the porch, with a gunshot wound to his face and neck.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is in critical condition.
Two 9mm shell casings and a weapon were recovered from the scene, according to police.
Police are checking surveillance cameras for additional clues.
The shooting remains under investigation.
