Scare tactics used to chase polar bear

Conservation crews in the Canadian territory of Nunavut use scare cartridges to chase a polar bear away from a campground.

The crews never fired a shot at the bear.

The creature eventually went across a river and back onto an ice sheet.

The crews managed to get the bear far away from the campground which is a popular fishing area.
