Luxury electric vehicles bursting into flames after being damaged by floodwaters and car batteries catching on fire have prompted a new warning from the state after Hurricane Ian.
The remnants of Hurricane Ian are affecting parts of the Jersey Shore with several roads in low-lying areas being flooded.
At least 72 people in Florida have died due to Hurricane Ian, according to local officials. Four people were also reported dead due to the storm in North Carolina, the governor's office said.
11 locations in mandatory evacuation zones in Florida closed ahead of Hurricane Ian.
While officials are still assessing the damage, the economic toll of Hurricane Ian is already staggering.
"People can't get in there to see if family is alive. The bridge is unusable, same with Sanibel," said a South Jersey native who rode out Hurricane Ian in Cape Coral.
