Driver killed when car strikes tree in Williamstown, NJ

WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A driver in Williamstown, New Jersey was killed when a vehicle struck a tree.

It happened around 4:00 p.m. Friday along South Black Horse Pike near Whitehall Road.

Authorities say somehow the driver lost control and the car went off the road, hitting the tree.

The identity of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been released.

Police are investigating what caused the driver to lose control.
