Teen boy struck, killed in Egg Harbor Twp.

EGG HARBOR TWP., N.J. - November 1, 2011

It happened around 8:57 p.m. on English Creek Avenue near Jake Glassey Drive.

Police say the driver, identified as Gail Katten, was travelling south when she struck the teenage pedestrian, crossing the road.

The victim, 13-year-old Bartholome Menjivar suffered serious head and leg injuries.

He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he later died.

Traffic was detoured for nearly two hours while police investigated the accident.

Authorities are still unsure of exactly what sparked the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time.
