$10K reward offered in theft of rare Liberty Bell ruby

WILMINGTON - June 20, 2012

On November 1st at 1:30 p.m. police say four suspects armed with guns and hammers entered the Stuart Kingston Galleries at 2010 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Officials say they tied up employees and smashed display cases making off with a large volume of high end jewelry and diamonds, including a rare 8,000 carat ruby shaped like the Liberty Bell.

The retail value of the ruby is over $2-million.

The robbers fled in a U-Haul van and were last seen on I-95 north toward Pennsylvania.

It is possible the suspects are from, or have connections to, the Philadelphia area.

Jim Stein, the owner of the Stuart Kingston Galleries, has offered the $10,000 reward.
