VIDEO: New school year bring tightened security at Philly school
Today was the first day of classes of the new school year.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The uniforms are pressed and the students are ready to learn at Delaware Valley Charter School.

Friday was the first day of classes of the new school year.

There are a few changes in security.

Last year, a guest brought a gun to school. It accidentally went off and injured two students.

This year's tightened security procedures are putting parents at ease.

The school's director of security likened the entrance process to that of an airport, where book bags are scanned and students walk through metal detectors.
