There's more evidence that antibiotics can affect a child's weight.

BALTIMORE, Md. (WPVI) -- There's more evidence that antibiotics can effect a child's weight.

A team at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine examined the records of 160,000 kids.

They found by the age of 15, taking antibiotics seven or more times during childhood raised a child's weight an average of 3 pounds.

The team also found children had a higher Body Mass Index that stuck with them as they got older.

A previous study from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia linked obesity to taking antibiotics in the first two years of a child's life.
