EDDYSTONE, Pa. (WPVI) -- One man is dead and two people hospitalized after a shooting and a violent crash in Delaware County.

The shooting happened before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 11th and Brown streets in Chester.

Watch Action Cam video from the scene where a man was shot while driving, then crashed into multiple cars.

One man, identified as 30-year-old Joseph LaTorre, was shot and killed. Police arrived to find him lying in the street.

Two other men who were at the shooting scene jumped into an SUV and fled.

The driver, who police say had also been hit by gunfire - bullet holes were later visible in the driver's side door - was able to drive more than half a mile, into Eddystone, Pa.

He finally lost control of the SUV at 9th Street and Eddystone Avenue.

Action News obtained home surveillance video of the SUV speeding down the street then crashing.

The footage first shows the headlights, then the collision, as debris flies into the air.

"It looked like Armageddon," said Eddystone resident Bonnie Dever. "I mean it looked like someone just picked up the cars and threw them down on the ground."

Another camera angle shows the cars smashing into each other and, later, smoke in the air.

One of the parked cars was pushed up on the sidewalk. Five vehicles, including the driver's, were damaged.

"I just heard a 'Boom, boom, boom, boom!" said resident Jim Dever. "Just jumped up, saw both my cars, neighbor's car, another one down at the red light."

"I opened the door," said Bonnie Dever. "The cars were every which way. There was smoke all over the place. There were other people out here already. I was shaking so bad I couldn't call."

Police and medics arrived on the scene.

"The driver was shot numerous times," said Eddystone Police Chief Edward Mokshefsky. "The passenger got across the street and passed out in the street."

Both men were rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in critical condition.

No one else at the crash site was injured.

Police are working to determine who was shooting at whom and what led to the gunfire.

The investigation continues.
