NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- New Castle County police have identified the man who allegedly opened fire on a neighbor and her son before turning the gun on himself Tuesday night.

Police were called at approximately 5:53 p.m. Tuesday to the unit block of Harlech Hall at the Foxwood Apartments for a burglary in progress.

Investigators say evidence suggests that 41-year-old Jason Brunson shot his 40-year-old neighbor and her 19-year-old son after forcibly entering their apartment.

Brunson was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The mother and son were transported to Christiana Hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds and are currently listed in stable condition.
