The state fire marshal's office believes an arsonist is responsible for setting fire to several trailers in Newark over the last 15 months.

NEWARK, Del. -- Fire officials say arsonists set fires that damaged nine vacant trailers in a Newark trailer Park. One firefighter was injured.

The State Fire Marshal's Office said in a news release that the fires were reported about 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Glasgow Court Trailer Park. The Christiana Fire Company arrived on the scene to find several vacant house trailers ablaze.

A firefighter was taken to Christiana Hospital suffering from burns. The firefighter was reported in good condition.

Authorities say trailers at the park have been set ablaze four times in the past year. All of the fires have occurred between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Officials say someone is also disabling fire hydrants in the area, causing delays in battling the blazes.
