Government health officials are tracking a new drug-resistant infection.

It's the first time it's been identified in the United States.

The government is very concerned, calling this an 'emerging threat.'

Thirteen people have gotten sick from a fungus called Candida Auris.

Seven cases were reported in New Jersey, Maryland, New York, and Illinois this summer.

Four patients died, but it's not clear if the infection is to blame.

The CDC says Candida Auris could cause outbreaks in healthcare facilities. It reminded administrators to strictly follow cleaning protocols.
