FELTONVILLE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police say a man was shot in the city's Feltonville section after he handed over cash to two men who were robbing him.

It happened after 12 a.m. Friday on Wyoming Avenue near North 4th Street.

Police say the victim and his friend had just gotten money from an ATM. Moments later they were approached by two men armed with a gun.

The friend of the victim handed over $250, but the suspects still fired several shots.

"Even though the robbers got their $200 they still decided to fire shots at this 26-year old victim just because he started to run away," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told Action News.

The victim is expected to survive.

Police are reviewing video from nearby surveillance cameras for clues.
