2 teens injured in Kensington shooting

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Two teenagers were injured in a shooting in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

It happened just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday at E and Westmoreland streets.

A 17-year-old was shot once in the chest, police say, and an 18-year-old was shot in the left buttocks while riding in a Mercedes Benz.

Police say 22 shell casings were found at the scene. The car was struck 12 times.

The 18-year-old drove to Allegheny and Howard and flagged down an officer to get help, police say.

Officers drove the victims to Temple University Hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old were in the back seat of the car, but were uninjured.

No arrests have been made at this time.
