Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting in Hunting Park.

It happened around 5 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Tioga Street.

Police say a 64-year-old man was sitting on a step when he was shot in the stomach.

"It sounded like balloons being busted down the street," said Leroy Thomas.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

Edward Lawrence lives in the boarding home with the shooting victim.

"I was going to the store and I came back home and I said 'Oh no, that's too bad," Lawrence said.

A firearm was recovered on scene. Police have no known motive and no arrest have been made.

But it is believed the suspect drove away in a pearl colored Ford Crown Victoria.
