LOGAN (WPVI) --Gunmen unleashed a hail of bullets that damaged cars and left a man critically injured in the Logan section of Philadelphia.
It happened at 11:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of North 15th and Conlyn streets.
Action News is told officers on patrol heard gunshots being fired and responded to the scene.
They approached two vehicles, one of which took off.
Two guns were tossed from the moving car a couple of blocks down the street. Two men, now described as persons of interest, were brought in for questioning.
The evidence back at the scene spoke for itself.
A car was riddled with bullets, and nearly two dozen shell casings were found on the ground.
One bullet narrowly missed a 57-year-old man who was sound asleep in his home. He found that bullet lodged in his bed post, just feet away from his head.
"He is just blessed. It wasn't his time... because a freak accident can happen to anybody at any given time," said neighbor Deborah Shuler.
