A firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor injuries after battling a house blaze in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion section early Saturday morning.

STRAWBERRY MANSION -- A firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor injuries after battling a house blaze in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion section early Saturday morning.

The fire broke out just after 5:15 a.m. on the 2700 block of West Lehigh Avenue.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the third floor of a 3-story house.

The fire quickly spread to an adjoining home.

It took more then an hour to douse the flames.

Several residents were evacuated from nearby home as a precaution.

Six people were displaced by the fire and are now being helped with temporary housing by the Red Cross.

West Lehigh Avenue is closed between 26th and 28th streets as firefighters continue to put out hot spots.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
