LOS ANGELES, Calif. (WPVI) -- A Los Angeles County firefighter interrupted his own wedding reception to save a guest's life.

It happened Saturday as Cody Campbell's father gave a speech.

Someone noticed a woman choking. So the groom jumped up from his seat and began to help.

"Just went back on my training, and just performed the Heimlich, and within 5 or 6 thrusts, a piece of meat became dislodged from her throat," Campbell said.

The woman was a relative in her 60s.

Once she began to breathe normally, she thanked the groom for saving her life, and the party continued right where it left off.
