Man charged after discovery of body in Wilmington park

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Wilmington police have made an arrest in the murder of a man found dead in Eden Park.

Police say 41-year old Marcus Cruz is facing murder charges for the strangulation of Donald Smith.

A cleaning crew discovered the body of the 57-year-old on Tuesday morning.

Police say Cruz and Smith worked together. But investigators have not revealed a motive.

Cruz is being held without bail.

This is the first arrest made by the Wilmington Police Department's newly created homicide unit.
