MAPLE SHADE, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police have identified the person who was killed in a shooting on the loading dock behind a restaurant in Maple Shade, New Jersey.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Devon Young of Willingboro.

Police received 911 calls shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday reporting the shooting in the 100 block of East Kings Highway.

The victim, a male, was found with a single gunshot wound on a loading dock behind the Iron Hill Brewery restaurant.

"There was an incident, there is one fatality, and the scene here is secure. We are making progress in our investigation, but it's very early to draw any conclusions yet," Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina said.

The immediate area and all businesses were put on lockdown while police searched for the shooter.

"I received a call to not come into the office they were on lockdown," Therese Warger of Greentech Energy said.

Some of the roofers overlooking the scene describe hearing anywhere from five to seven shots fired.

The prosecutor's office says it's pursuing leads and that this was not a random shooting.

They say the victim was the intended target.

"We feel safe that there is no active shooter in the area. We've reduced the scene as the prosecutor said. I feel that the people, the business people, everything is open. Business is normal, except for obviously what happened in the area," Maple Shade Police Chief Gary Gubbei said.

Some of the workers at nearby Kingsway Plaza are a little bit nervous.

"You still have to be aware of everything all your surroundings and everything. You never know who is around, they could do anything to you," worker Gloria Pica said.

Multiple agencies including New Jersey State Police, local police and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office are investigating.

Iron Hill Brewery officials say no employees and customers were involved or injured in the incident.

The restaurant will be opening for business as usual at 5:30 p.m.

Authorities are working to identify the shooter.
