Police: 4-year-old boy drowns in family pool in Salem County

Police say a 4-year-old boy is dead after drowning in a family pool in Pennsville, Salem County.

PENNSVILLE, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say a 4-year-old boy is dead after drowning in a family pool in Pennsville, Salem County.

It happened along South Broadway shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the boy climbed out of a window, walked into the backyard and fell into the pool.

Officers responded after the parents noticed the child was missing.

They pulled the boy from the pool, and immediately started CPR.

The child was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Police are investigating.
