Authorities say a man in his 20s was shot by Philadelphia police after a foot chase in Hunting Park.

HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- Authorities say a man in his 20s was shot by Philadelphia police after a foot chase in Hunting Park.

Officers were responding to the report of a burglary on the 4300 block of North Franklin Street.

Upon arrival, the 23-year-old suspect was spotted on the porch of a home.

Officers ordered the man not to move but the suspect ran anyway.

A brief foot chase ensues and on the 4400 block of North 8th Street an officer told the man to stop.

Police say the suspect pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at officers.

The officer in pursuit fired at the man but missed.

The suspect then continued fleeing and police say he once again drew a weapon.

Soon after, at least one officer opened fire, striking the man in the arm, leg and torso.

The suspect was transported to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

Officers recovered a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun at the scene.

Police also say they are looking for a second man in connection to the incident.
