CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A 16-year-old boy turned himself into SEPTA police Thursday after they issued a warrant for his arrest.

The teen accompanied by his attorney surrendered at the Philadelphia police 9th district.

SEPTA police say the teen assaulted a 60-year-old man on the Market-Frankford El.

SEPTA Police Chief Thomas J. Nestel III said Wednesday facial recognition software and two tipsters led them to the identity of the suspect.

A camera at the 15th and Market platform captured the attack of the male rider on Monday.

Authorities say the young man got into a verbal altercation with the 60-year-old man.

After several minutes of arguing, the train pulled in at 15th and Market.

That's when the victim was punched and knocked unconscious.

SEPTA says the victim was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital for observation.
